Best methods of Affiliate Marketing
Don’t fill your page with hundreds of banners. This is the trap beginners to affiliate marketing most often make. Put simply, it looks like it was built by a child, doesn’t promote confidence in the online shopper and will not convert into sales for you.
Use banners sparingly, 2 or 3 per page at most, placed where they will fit into your site layout and made to look like they are part of the overall site design.
Wherever possible, use text links with accurate descriptions of the item you are promoting. Aside from drawing your visitors attention, text links and descriptions provide welcome content for search engines. You will certainly get more traffic from search engines if you have text on your pages.
Try to avoid placing a price on your site unless you have access to a datafeed which you can update daily. Instead, use a link which simply says, click here for price.
In order to increase traffic to your site and to help get listed in the major search engines, try to obtain reciprocal links to your site from other webmasters. You may do this by checking with other sites that offer reciprocal links pages. Do not SPAM.
One other investment to seriously consider when starting out is to purchase your own domain name.
Never copy another site(s) content. Not only is this breach of copyright, you will surely get found out and run the risk of having your affiliate account terminated.
Believe me, site copiers do get caught, its not worth it, so don’t do it.
