Affiliate Datafeeds

Access to a datafeed can sure make life easier. A single file with every product carried by a particular merchant.

To make the most of this great tool you’ll need to know a bit about perl, php, and mysql. Using these tools you will be able to construct some great dynamically driven sites. Don’t despair if you are not a programming genius, there is some software that can build static pages from the datafeeds.

 Datafeeds are typically a ‘delimited’ file with a format such as:

ProductID;Brand;ProductName;Description;Price;Imageurl;Buyurl;Category

Datafeeds are available from most of the networks, sometimes for a set up fee. Some merchants also provide a in-house datafeed outside of the networks, these are usually free, so look around.

Some in-house merchants will provide datafeeds, you’ll need to look around here too.
